ORDER OF EASTERN STAR
STATE OF ALABAMA
The Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and accepted masons Scottish for the State of Alabama and jurisdiction has authorized and establish on 8th day of May of 1978 the Daughters of the Universal Grand Chapter.
Leaders at this historic occasion were: Brother Peter Alston, Jr., M.W.G.M.; Bro. Novel Sanders 320, R.W. Deputy Grand Master; Brother Clarence A. Pope 330., R.W. Grand Sr. Warden; Rev. Henry Reese, 330, R.W. Jr. Grand Warder; Bro. Larry Gibbs 330, Right Worshipful Grand Secretary; Bro. Randolph Bowie 330, R.W. Grand Treasurer of the Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Alabama
Listed are Worthy Grand Matrons and their years of service. First WGM was Sis. Gloria Thomas who was elected in 1978.

During its years of service to charity, the D.O.U Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star for Alabama and Jurisdiction through its members has taken an active part in every worthwhile endeavor that tended to elevate mankind to higher heights. We shall continue to practice the lessons taught by the Five Heroines of Our Order and shall continue to follow the Star of Bethlehem through the Mazy Labyrinth of Human Life to the Celestial City promised by the Master
In its years of existence the Grand Chapter of Alabama has met every year. Our past has been a long remarkable one and our future promises to be even brighter.
